Final Step! Fill and Seal the Joints

WHY IS IT WORTH CHOOSING CERAMIC TILES?

DO THE TILING YOURSELF!

Immediately remove the surplus of adhesive, if it has risen above a half-depth of joints after tiling.

Time for filling gaps between tiles also depends on the adhesive used. Some adhesives dry as quickly as within 3-4 hours, and you may already proceed with filling.

Remember to remove all spacers before filling.

1. Use a damp sponge to moisten the gaps before sealing them with the filler.
2. Use a rubber scapula or a grater to insert the filler deeply and densely.
3. Use a big damp sponge to wash off the entire surface after the gap filler has congealed slightly.
4. Repeat the same procedure 10-15 minutes later.
5. 24 hours later, use a soft cloth to wipe off grout residue from the tiles.
6. Moisten the gaps with clean water for a few days after filling. The real colour of filler settles in after the filler has completely dried, in approximately 2-3 days.

Important:

  • Please consult the seller or read the information leaflet on how to use a particular kind of filler.
  • In order to protect filled gaps against pigmentation or scour of new filler, they should not be over- moistened.
  • In order to reduce water absorption of the filler and to increase its resistance to pollution, it is recommended to impregnate it with protective materials after it has completely dried, in approximately 2 weeks time.

7. Silicon sealant should be used for gaps in peculiar places (interior and exterior corners, heated joints around the walls, corners, sink, as well as other places) to protect tile joints from cracking due to mechanical movement or fluctuations in temperature.

Important:

  • Please note that silicon and filler used should be of the same kind and colour.
