WHY IS IT WORTH CHOOSING CERAMIC TILES?
The right colour, tone and drawing of tiles, their surface facture and resistance to wear highlights the advantages and conceals the disadvantages of a tiled room. It also creates a cosy atmosphere in the flat, accentuates individuality of an office, and lasts for a long while.
- If kitchen windows face the north, it is better to choose tiles of bright, warm tones that produce the effect of light, warmth and cosiness. (E.g. S602/Matera, S612/Xeno, S657/Herba, S068/Virga, S121/Diana)
- Finish of rooms with windows facing the south benefit from cold-coloured tiles that „calm" bright direct sun rays. (E.g. S616/Xeno, S658/Herba, S076/Mira, S123/Diana)
- Optically, warm colours reduce space and produce the effect that the plane is nearer (this effect is the strongest when using colour yellow). On the opposite, cold tones make it seem further (especially, colour blue). Visually, this method of gluing tiles of different colour that belong to a single collection can help to level the plane of the wall containing niches. For example, you can cover the entire wall with light Herba tiles S656, and use yellow S657 tiles to cover the niches.
- Pale tones (light sky-blue, light yellow, etc.) lose the impact of their intensive colour; this way, the usual light yellow colour S656/Herba produces the effect of the plane being not so near, as compared to bright yellow S657/Herba. Light wall tiles visually make the room more spacious. (E.g. S617, S611/Xeno, S073, S075/Mira, S072, S071/Virga, S052, S122/Diana)
- Dark colours seem heavy, so the floor is covered with darker tiles, and the upper part with lighter tiles. One does not have to follow this tiling method, if the room has high ceiling; then, the upper part of the wall may be tiled in darker tones to make the room look cosier. This traditional tiling method is used less and less frequently. A new tendency is to divide the wall into vertical stripes.
- Size and proportions of the room may be optically changed. Long and narrow room seems shorter and wider, if wide walls are covered with darker tiles (e.g. S336), and narrow ones with lighter tiles (e.g.: S334/Aveniu).
- The room shall become a harmonious background for furniture and other house wares, if you choose a single collection and combine tiles of several colours, shades or sizes.
